Our purpose

We publish cost, lifespan, comparison, and decision guides for major home repairs and replacements. The goal of every page is to help a homeowner make a better decision, not to rank in search.

How content is produced

Home Repair Ledger uses an automated research and writing system, supported by AI language models, that we designed and operate. In plain terms:

  1. Topics are selected from what homeowners actually search for.
  2. For each topic, the system gathers source material first: manufacturer specifications and list prices, government statistics (BLS, DOE, EPA, IRS), standards bodies, and reputable trade publications. Sources are linked in the article.
  3. A draft is written from that material. Claims that cannot be tied to a source are removed. Cost figures are computed with the assumptions shown on the page.
  4. Automated checks run before publication: source verification, originality screening against the web, readability, and a policy review that flags anything outside our scope. We do not give medical, legal, or financial advice.
  5. Articles are monitored after publication and updated when prices, rules, or products change. Each article shows its last-updated date.

What we do not do

We do not invent experiences we have not had, we do not present AI-generated images as photographs of real projects, and we do not publish content solely to place advertisements.

Corrections

If you believe something on this site is wrong, email contact@homerepairledger.com with the page URL. We review every report and correct errors as quickly as we can, noting the correction on the page.

Advertising

The site is supported by advertising (Google AdSense). Advertisers have no influence over which topics we cover or what we say about products, and ads are labeled as ads. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies are used.
